How to get Perfect Wedding Photos - Part 2 The Ceremony Photos

  1. Slowly does it! It may seem obvious right now, but in the moment you'll be so excited that you'll walk quickly down the aisle to be with the love of your life!  Many Brides (as well as Bridesmaids!) tend to rush down the aisle in the midst of nerves and excitement, and some Brides worry about 'everyone looking at them'.  Don't worry!  These are your closest friends and family and they are there to wish you good look and admire you - enjoy it!  You really do want to make the most of this moment so walk down the aisle as slowly as you can , breathe and take it all in.  From a photographers point of view, aisle's tend to be pretty short here in the UK so by you taking your time and enjoying it, we get a few extra seconds to capture beautiful images for you.  Remember, people blink, laugh and look around so we need to take a few photos in a very short space of time to capture the very best for you!
  2. Put a ring on it!  When you and your beloved are ready to give each other the wedding rings try to remember to hold the sides of the rings rather than the top and bottom.  By doing this your photographer can see the rings to photograph the special moment for you.  Also try to keep your other hand out of the way!
  3. Smile in to each other's eyes.  Trust me on this one.  You'll remember this precise moment for the rest of your lives if you do.  Ever heard people say to stop and take it all in?  This is one of those moments.  The ceremony goes by so fast that it's like a whirlwind.  When you're standing at the top of the aisle together and listening to a reading, singing a hymn or listening to the Vicar or Registrar, take a moment to look in to your loved ones eyes.  A little squeeze of his hand should get him to turn and look at you.  Smile at him and tell him you love him with your eyes.  You'll remember this moment forever.
  4. Kiss like you mean it!  It may feel awkward to give a lingering or passionate kiss in front of your wedding guests but trust me, everyone will love it!  You'll get love, whoops, whistles and cheers and it makes for such a special moment.  Hold that kiss for a few extra seconds and create the perfect First Kiss photo!
  5. Do a little dance! Congratulations!  You did it!  As you walk back down the aisle as a married couple, enjoy that feeling of love and happiness!  Express yourselves by doing a little dance, fist pump the air of high five your Best Man & Bridesmaid for a really fabulous and exciting photo.  I promise, it will turn out to be one of your favourites!
  6. Stop and pause.  When you reach the end of the aisle, I'll be there waiting for you with a huge happy grin on my face!  Stop at the end of the aisle and we'll take a couple of newlywed photos at the entrance of the Church or Ceremony space.  It's a good idea to have a member of staff or an Usher stationed there to close any doors behind you for a minute or two.  This also gives your wedding guests time to pick up their belongings and make their way outside without a huge bundle of people on your tail!
